High School Beginning Remote Learning November 18

High School Beginning Remote Learning November 18
Yvonne Domings

Dear High School Parents,

We are thrilled to be able to look in the rear-view mirror to see 5+ weeks of having most of your children on campus at our in-person school. It has been wonderful to reconnect with our existing students and to bond with our new students. As you know, Sparhawk has made the pre-emptive decision to teach and learn remotely from Thanksgiving through January 24th (with a planned holiday break between December 18 and January 4). In the past several weeks, we have seen the number of high school students who are present in-person continue to decline until today it was clear that the vast majority of our students have transitioned to remote learning already.

Therefore, we will be returning grades 8-12 to remote learning beginning on this Wednesday, November 18th. This will allow us to streamline and organize what we are offering to all of our students within the same platform. We understand that for the few students who have remained on campus, this may be challenging. However, we look forward to offering additional extracurricular opportunities online and increased attention to individualization as our teachers will be able to focus only on online teaching rather than teaching to both in-person and online populations. If your child has a science kit or other books, please be sure to pick them up by the end of the day. If you need to pick up later, please let me know and we will do our best to acccommodate you.

We hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Warm Regards,

Yvonne Domings, Ed.M.
