Diversity & Inclusion
Sparhawk School is committed to the ongoing process of building a culture of kindness that is sustained by an inclusive and respectful community. To us, this is paramount. We celebrate the many forms of diversity within our community including race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, family structure, and abilities. You are unique, and your individuality adds to our community as a whole.
Being a Good Human
Having empathy and compassion are imperative qualities in becoming a good human being. Through our intentional curriculum, cultural immersion, and authentic learning experiences our students learn these qualities beginning in PreK. We build on this foundation for example by exploring history and asking tough questions about humanity through Socratic Seminar, community time (PreK-5) and Project-Based Learning.
Engaging in Anti-Racism
Sparhawk School condemns racism in all its forms. Humanity is not up for debate. We are dedicated to building a community that is equitable for students, families, employees and community members regardless of race or ethnicity.
Sparhawk School leadership shared this letter to our community on June 5th.
